  Matthew 1:17 & 42 Generations

  if we are to look at matthew 1:17, looks like there were 42 generations from abraham to jesus.. if we take 1948 bce (abraham's birth) and we take it to jesus baptisim (29 ce) we get to 1,977 years.. so lets divide 1977 years by 42 (the amount of generations), we get to around 47 years for one generation.. 1 generation = 47 years.. 1 generation + an overlapping generation (1 generation more) = 94 years.. this is all in the first chapter of the new testament..... comments welcome.....

  I did the same research, 40 years seems to be the magic number, and even if you have "overlapping" generations, like the glorious ones in NY have "evidently" agreed upon by means of HS when they meet together....    

  1914 + 80 = 1994

  Send money to KH in lieu of flowers.

  "in lieu of flowers send money to the kingdom hall"..... wow.... this young woman's jw servant husband was caught cheating on her again with another jw "sister", but when she told her husband she wanted to forgive him again and continue with her marriage, he told her he didn't want that.

  he wanted her to simply move on with her life.here is how she moved on: she put on her wedding dress, got into her car in the garage and started it.

  do you think finding her this way spoke louder than any suicide note?

  So very, very sad... and yes, this cult does train you to never think you have done enough... that you always need to forgive, that you are "married for life" no matter what... that "no children" is a sacrifice for 'God.'

  After leaving this terrible, terrible organization... after knowing it is 'not the truth,' I have seen the effects of it's influence take it's toll on many people, in many ways... some longer than others.

  The WT is evil. It screws with your brain.

  The Fear mongering of this weeks WT study!

  have you all read this weeks study article?.

  oh my word it is full of fear inducing tactics....doom and gloom outlooks.... anxiety inducing methods to develop absolute control over witnesses and cripple them in any attempt to think for themselves!.

  (notice i am saying "themselves" rather than "ourselves"?!

  My bet?  I think that they are starting their next propaganda campaign..  They always start years & years earlier....

  They are trying to get these "meeting in the basements of private homes" pictures to look normal to JW's...   Then, when the WT sells off the K Halls, and the poor rank & file have lost their investment, they will feel "special" as they meet together in a 'basement' of someone's home...   

  It will prove to them that "the slave" was once again 'right.'

  my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.

  i hadn't seen her in a while, so it was nice to hear her voice.

  we went through the motions of jw small talk and then she started telling me about her co visit from last week.

  Display of National Flags in Kingdom Halls in Chile: WTS' Response

  remember this and other threads a few months back, on the subject that some kingdom halls in chile acquiesced to govt rules that every building should display the national flag on the day of celebration?.

  This is just like the "you can't have an organ transplant or you are a cannibal" and the reversal not long after.... "Oh well, they will be resurrected"      

  People didn't just "die" in Malawi, they were beaten, starved, chased from their homes, raped.

  15 As recently as October 1967, the refusal to join a particular political party and the failure to carry a party card identifying one with the party, resulted in a barbaric wave of torture heaped upon Jehovah’s witnesses in the Central African country of Malawi. An unknown number of women witnesses of Jehovah were raped. Forty of these were pregnant. Due to the way they were abused, each one suffered a miscarriage. Because they refused to buy a political card, they were beaten severely, sexually assaulted and their property was destroyed. Yet President Banda of Malawi could not get them to break integrity and renounce their God Jehovah. These Witnesses were motivated from the heart. They had true Christian qualities built in them.

  16 When a Christian witness of Jehovah of Ntifinyire Village was beaten for refusing to purchase a political card, Banda’s youths took a knife and made cuts encircling his arms and then his legs and inflicted many cuts on his head. Other Witnesses had six-inch nails driven into their feet, bicycle spokes were forced through their legs and then these Christians were told to run. Still others were tortured with a burning stick placed against their arms, legs, head and entire body. Still these Witnesses refused to compromise their religious beliefs or deny their God Jehovah under such barbaric torture. Do you have the quality of Christian endurance in you to stand such tests? You may be called upon someday to prove your faith. How will your faith stand up?

  16. (a) What other trials did Jehovah’s witnesses in Malawi suffer? (b) What questions should we ask ourselves, and why?

  Let's ask this question:  Why did Garrett Losch refuse to appear before the United States Court when he merely received a deposition? Would he have been abused? Raped? Cut with a knife all over his body? Get his property taken from him? Have six inch nails driven into his feet?  Did he have enough faith? Why not show that he has "complete trust in Jehovah" and show the 'Christian quality of endurance'?

  you don't have to know much to talk to jw's and show them they don't want to really discuss the matters.they consider a discussion on the matter they are pushing to be "confrontational.".
